Scripture: First John 4 verses 7 – 9
Scripture verse for this year ministry
“Dear Friends let us love one another for love comes from God. Everyone who loves, has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world, that we might live through Him”.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,
I am Thankful for all of you! Each of you have been a Blessing to our Orphans, our Pastors, and to me and my Family. We love you, and we will be Praying for all of you by name in India with the Brothers and Sisters you have supported faithfully for so long.
Many of you may be wondering why this Newsletter has been so late in coming. The simple answer is we were not sure what to do this year. There has been serious fighting in North-East India with-in Manipur where most of our Mission work program is. This fighting has been among the Meitei people, and many of the remote Hill Tribes and villages where we minister. The Indian Government has sent in over 200,000 troops. In the past month we have also received phone calls from underground insurgent groups who have been posing as our Pastor’s helpers. They have been trying to find out when we will be coming to India. The phone numbers these Terrorists are using are numbers that do not exist. We do not answer the phone, unless we see numbers that we recognize from within India.
You also may know of the turmoil in the Middle-East, which has now extended itself into Europe. Asia is also becoming a very hostile place in certain areas. Ministry around the world is becoming dangerous and difficult. Just after writing these letters first rough draft, an earthquake of 6.7 hit Manipur State where our ministry is, and where my wife’s family is located. However, we have made our decision, and we are heading to India unless God intervenes or shows us otherwise.
This past year 2015 has been a very difficult year for us. In the past 21 years of ministry, 2015 definitely proved to be our most challenging of years. I would like to take this moment to Remember one of our Orphan girls. This past summer 8 – year old Rahel Beheramajhi went home to be with Jesus. She battled Brain Malaria. she will be very much missed by the other orphan children who loved her. We also want to Praise God for healing five other boys and girls who survived this very deadly disease. We also lost one of our Board Members this past fall to Cancer. Her name is Genevieve Lloyd, a women very much loved by me personally, because she had a way of lifting me up and encouraged me to be strong in the roughest of times over the past 18 years. Genevieve’s husband Jay Lloyd has been mentoring me in a Men’s Bible Study in Alanson, Michigan monthly for about 18 years now. Our family has lost 8 other friends and relatives who were very close to us. This gives a renewed new meaning to the words, (life is short!). We need to make the most of what time God has given to us.
On an up-ward note: A young 21-year-old backwoodsman type fellow by the name of Tanner Armantrout from Cheboygan, Michigan, went with our family into India for 2 – months. Tanner spent 95% of his time by my side in the ministry. I’m not sure how he survived being around me all that time. It is a true Miracle. I will say however, that this young man brought a renewed spirit to our ministry as we witnessed to thousands of people. He was a Blessing to me and so many others. His life and mine will be forever changed by this mission trip in 2015. Note: We Encourage and Challenge others to travel with us. It will be an experience that truly will transform one’s life.
Bibles that were paid for in full since last March, have finally reached their destinations in Manipur, and also into the Persecuted State of Orissa (Odisha). We had some difficulty getting Bibles in certain languages printed. We are still waiting on one more language to be printed and sent out. Our Pastors are now actively engaged in the distribution of those Bibles among the tribal peoples.
Another Praise Point! This past year we started a new Non-profit (NGO) in India, under The Word Of God For Asia. Our Organization is now recognized by the Indian government of Manipur in North-East India. The Word of God For Asia, now has its own Board of Directors in India. We are now trying to acquire certain certifications in India, that will allow us to make International monetary wire transfers. This is called FCRA or (Foreign Currency Regulation Act). This is very much needed to make a money transfer to a Society / NGO Non-profit Organization or Corporation with in India. Please make this a Prayer Point. We need this Account Certification to get monetary aid to our Ministry Over-Sea’s. In past years things were less difficult, but since the rise of terrorism, governments have established tight control of money moving in and out of countries. That is why the Patriot Act was implemented.
This brings me to that part of the Newsletter where I get to minister to you. I hope you read with anticipation. As I contemplated this year’s Mission Trip to India, I struggled with what God’s will was for me. I mention struggle, because I truly did not know what to do with the information I had regarding what was taking place with terrorism around the world. I am a
news buff, paying attention to everything that may be going on everywhere. It is no surprise then, that the world is falling apart at the seams. Over the years we have all seen governments topple. We have seen the rise of rebel militants, insurgencies, and underground terrorism bent on violence and destruction. It is really unbelievable but true.
The time of Noah, and the time of Jesus have been considered the most violent of times in Ancient History. Many Theologians today believe we are in the beginning of those same violent times. Jesus pointed out that as it was in the time of Noah, so will it be at the time of his return. No doubt, we have seen prophecy fulfilled before our very eyes. so, who knows when that time will be, only God knows. However, we need to pay attention.
I cannot recount the numbers of people who have said to me throughout the years. don’t go to India this year. Stay home! It is too dangerous, just wait. Go another time. There is always next year. Live now for another day, and on and on and on.
Do not be offended. Please let me point out, that this is not what Jesus would do, and it’s not what He would say. Jesus Himself came to this Earth at the worst of times. He went where others would dare not go. The Word of God is Clear. God did not spare His own Begotten Son. What if Jesus had waited for a less dangerous time? What if He had never come? The answer is, we would all be lost for Eternity without a Hope. However, Jesus did come, and He Sacrificed His life for the salvation of his greatest Creation, His Children. That is you and me. Praise God!
If ever there is a time to go out into the Mission / Ministry field, it is for such a time as this. This is the time when the World needs to hear God’s Word. God’s created Children surely need to be lifted up and encouraged in times of Tribulation and Persecution. The Word of God, The Holy Bible is clear, times are not going to get better. Things / Times will continue to progressively get worse, until the time of Jesus return. I believe we have not seen anything compared to what it will be like as Jesus return edges closer and closer. In this life we need to know one very important fact from a Christian Perspective. If you are a child of God, your life is not your own. We have been purchased with a price. The price is Jesus Blood, His Sacrifice for our Salvation. We have been saved by the Love, mercy, and Grace of God through JESUS.
As I pointed out earlier, I wanted to know the will of God as it pertained to this trip to India. Knowing the Word of God to be his will for our lives, I went to the only place I could go. I tell everyone it is ” The Love Story “. That Love Letter God wrote to his Children. It’s the Bible. So, I picked out some Scripture for you to read. Read – (Micah 6 verses 6 – 8). Here we learn that we can do nothing that will please God. Except in verse 8, it says: ” what God requires of us, is to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly before God.”
Check out (First John 4 verses 7 – 21), this part of Scripture is one of my favorites. It talks about God’s deep Love. This section, needs to be read slow, so you don’t miss out on anything. The part that jumps out to me is verse 18, which I will elaborate on a little bit later. This is what John says: ” There is no fear in Love, but perfect Love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The man who fears is not made perfect in Love.”
Then John gives a great Example. ” If anyone says, I Love God, yet Hates his brother, he is a Liar. Then who ever Loves God, must also Love his brother.” Think about this for a moment, and listen to what the Psalmist says in (Psalm 119 verses 9 – 16). Note, I will capture just the headlines. ” live according to God’s Word “, “Seek it with all your Heart”, “Keep God’s Word in your Heart”, “Listen to His Decrees”, “Rejoice in His Statutes”, “Meditate on His Precepts”, “Consider His Ways”, and the very last part – “I will not Neglect Your Word”. God’s will for us is His Holy Inspired Word. We need to read it, live it, and know it.
SO HERE COMES THE CONCLUSION: We are going to India, unafraid, and ready to Serve the Lord! This is what we are all called to do. To go where Jesus calls us, to fulfill “The Great commission”. To go and bring The Word of God to a people at a time when the world needs it most. To lift up those Children who have no Parents, and tell them that we Love them. God Loves them too. To Encourage those brothers and sisters in Christ who are being severely persecuted everywhere. To bring God’s Word to those that never knew Him. There is no time for waiting. God’s will is not for us to be afraid, but to go out with boldness, so that others may know Him, and have a relationship with Him. OUR LIVES BELONG TO JESUS! It is all about sacrifice. Giving up of Ourselves for the benefit and Salvation of others through Jesus. Sacrifice is loving so much, you do whatever you can for the one that you love, but when we are serving the Lord. It is loving so much you do whatever you can for He who loves you. Jesus Loves Me! Remember singing that song in Sunday School. Jesus Loves You! We the Children of God, should want to do all we can, for the one who did it all for us, and has set us aside to fulfill His purposes for our lives, and the lives of others. Go into all the world Jesus says, in The Name of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The best part is the last sentence. “And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age”.
PRAYER: Lord it’s not pretty out there in this old world, but you are our Father in Heaven. Thank you Jesus for Saving us, for Loving us. We Love you too. We will not be afraid of anything, because You told us many times, DO NOT BE AFRAID! Even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil, for you are with us Always! May all the Glory, all the Honor, and all the Praise be to your Holy Name. Amen
We will be Flying to India when you receive this Newsletter, please keep us in your prayers. We will be leaving Jan. 14 – thru – March 1st, 2016. God willing we will see you in the Spring in Jesus Name.
